A truly delightful time it was. Long time Calgarians may recall when this music was played without words as the credits rolled. Classic stuff! Hope someone has. Around 1981
This was a promo commercial for one of the local tv stations (which is now Global). Larry Day a news anchor appears several times. They had the rights for broadcasting Flames games…. and did a much better job then what we get now thanks to Ed
When I was a little kid, I used to love it when that song came on. I would sing along to it, and it would usually end up waking my dad up. The full version would air right when the broadcast day began. I would grab my bowl of cheerios and then watch Hercules and Abbot & Costello. Life was so much simpler when the premium cable package was 13 channels. Man I loved this city back then. It was so simple, and homey. Now we are just a little version of T.O.
That’s like when my friends complain about how bad Calgary drivers are, and I say “No, those are all the imports. True Calgarians can drive well, regardless of the road conditions”
This song pops in my head every so often. I grew up here in Calgary but it’s not the same town it was. I miss the old Calgary, it’s lost so much of it’s character, just another big city now.
Its always going to be home!!
…wtf… wish Fort McMurray had something this cheezy.

Raised in Calgary, and miss it there, thanks for putting this video up, I’d been wanting to hear that song for quite some time.
No Bret Hart in there. Thought they might’ve got possibly the world’s most famous Calgaryian in there
This brings back so many memories and makes me homesick. Ed Whalen – RIP
ahhh….i been born in calgary and raised in calgary go calgary! and i sill live here to
Another born & raised Calgarian here!

This sure brings back memories. Too bad that true Calgarians seem to be declining. Everyone has moved here but few were born here like myself.
this is when calgary was still innocent i miss the calgary of my child hood
Thanks! I (L) Calgary I live here
This is amazing.
there is not that much crime
Back when the tower was still the tallest building in Calgary….now when you come in you can barely see it….lol
I used to live in Calgary..lots of crime i wish it was actually like it is in this song
RCSCC Undaunted!

Thanks to homespun American ingenuity! ^_^
Sad it is not the same as it was in the past. Now has no heart
Terrible city. But the best damn song on earth.
Just kidding, the city only sometimes sucks.
