Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Calgary is an oil capital and commercial center, with a rapidly growing population of young professionals attracted by the vibrant economic environment. It takes just a little over an hour to drive to the Rocky Mountain resorts in Banff National Park. Calgary has grown around the intersection of the Bow and Elbow rivers, and the city is divided into a four-quadrant grid, with the Bow River separating North from South, and Centre Street-Macleod Trail.

  1. I live in Calgary, and they are making it look like Calgarians are only about culture and cowboys, wtf. Calgarians could care less about that stuff.

  2. superdupersamuel

@cherlewis2009 theres nothing american about calgary

  3. Martinxxxxxxxxxxx

id go mad cus of these cowboys things… lol

  4. @911CID911 No offence to Calgary but it has nothing on Vancouver and it’s much. much dirtier. If it’s not the road salt in the winter it’s the dust in the summer that makes everything ugly. Vancouver is gorgeous year round.

  5. @MDFSD It’s not THAT exciting….I live there

  6. @317sunlaw I’m sorry you’ve had it so rough. I’ve been here 13 years and the worst that’s happened is I think we had our bikes stolen one year… but that’s eventually expected when you live in a bad part of town.

  7. How about the cheaper joys of tourism? One of my favorite Calgary things to do is to go to Nose Hill Park for a good walk with panoramic views — more natural than the Calgary Tower. Another good tip — on a sunny day go to the homemade ice cream store (I think it is Lics) in Bowness area on Memorial Drive, and lick all your way two blocks to the river’s edge, see the river, the joggers and cyclers…

As someone who has lived in both Ottawa and (near) Toronto for many years, I can say that Calgary is unquestionably superior to those cities

  18. this makes calgary seem so much better than it accually is, only showing the best things about the city
